From small decorative accents to colors, textures and prints, every element of your home should be a reflection of your personal style. Whether you prefer subdued shades, simple textures or vibrant patterns, wallpaper is the perfect way to inject character into an interior — and, no space is off limits. With so many patterns, themes and styles to choose from, it might feel impossible to find the right wallpaper for your taste. To keep you inspired, we turned to design experts to learn more about the leading wallpaper trends for 2023.
Design pros agree that wallpaper is having a moment in elegant dining rooms, moody bathrooms and beautiful bedrooms. If you're hesitant to take a chance with wallpaper, then our experts suggest starting small. "Powder rooms are the perfect place to really go bold with a unique, patterned wallpaper since they are self-contained spaces," says Kirsten Blazek, founder of A1000XBetter. To make a big statement, use a whimsical wallpaper to create an accent wall in the living room or fill a bedroom wall with fun florals.
No matter how simple or adventurous you're feeling, these wallpapered rooms are sure to spark your next home decor project. Keep in mind, a ton of gorgeous prints come as peel-and-stick wallpapers. "Think of an oversized sticker that can be removed," says architectural designer James Stanley. "Peel-and-stick wall coverings are perfect for a temporary space or if you are reluctant to commit to a permanent wallpaper."

Bold, Colorful Prints
"Maximalist-inspired prints are going to be popular in 2023. More clients are becoming comfortable and seeing the benefits of living with color-rich spaces and wallpaper is a perfect way to easily transform an interior." — Elaine Burns Thompson, Pistachio Designs

A Fresh Spin on English Style
"For 2023, cozy and moody are still going to be big, with a decidedly English spin on interiors. Bold wall treatments and contrasting trims will be popular." — Maggie Griffin, interior designer
3
Simple Stripes
"Stripes are classic and add interest while remaining subtle — they make a space look more modern, but never trendy. I also love that striped wallpaper can be installed vertically or horizontally, and look equally at home in kid and grown-up spaces." — Erin Gates, interior designer and wallpaper designer

Subdued Tones and Patterns
"Wallpaper is a great way to add color, pattern and unexpected elements to a neutral space. Muted colors with bold patterns are on trend for next year, as they enable you to add personality and prints to a space without overpowering the other elements of the design." — Jessica Risko Smith, JRS Interior Design

Black and White
"I like the trend of black and white motifs for wallpaper. Black and white together can act as a neutral canvas and are versatile with almost any color." — Lance Thomas, Thomas Guy Interiors

Moody Florals
"Floral wallpapers have been hugely popular for many years now, and I don’t see that trend going anywhere in 2023. Going for a dramatic, moody wallpaper in a powder room instantly elevates the tone and allows you to make a bold, daring choice in a smaller space." — Kirsten Blazek, A1000XBetter

Also, Large-Scale Prints
