MPS/UPS; £30,000 - £43,266 per annumGSL Education are recruiting a Design Technology Teacher to work within a Client Secondary School in Selby, North Yorkshire from April 2024. This is a great opportunity for a Qualified Teacher seeking a change in pace or simply after a new challenge.
Design Technology Teacher Responsibilities Will Include
Primary duties include teaching Design & Technology students of KS2, KS3 and KS4, lesson planning, and developing medium- and long-term plans.
Evaluating the ability of individual students, putting together BTEC materials for exams, and helping students with special needs.
Use all available resources to engage young people.
Contribute and engage in extra-curricular Design and Technology activities.
Take part in staff training days, staff meetings and parent’s evenings.
Successful candidate will also be required to teach some other subjects that they are passionate about which will be discussed in interview.
Minimum candidate requirements:
A UK teaching qualification namely e.g. PGCE in Design and Technology or B.Ed with QTS.
Experience teaching BTEC Design Technology and supporting young people with SEMH.
Up to date in their field of expertise with the capability of fostering curiosity and interest for the subject.
Strongly committed to pupil welfare and ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
Strong command of the curriculum and good behaviour management skills; able to meet deadlines.
Be effective at behaviour management linked to complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
